The authorities concerned have failed to take measures to curb the menace. People blame the authorities for not taking appropriate steps to reduce the increasing dog population.  The Mahant rued the apathy of Municipal Corporation for not controlling the population of stray canine in the mela area. Stray dogs of various age groups, colours, breed and sizes can be spotted on internal roads chasing and barking at those riding two-wheelers and four-wheelers, besides pedestrians. Saints are spending sleepless nights as these dogs keep on barking throughout the night. Dogs urinate and defecate in front of the camps creating unhygienic conditions.
