Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni turned 36 on Friday and Team India, which is in West Indies, celebrated his birthday in style. The celebration must have been more special after India overwhelmed hosts Windies in the final ODI at Kingston to clinch the series 3-1. In recent times, it’s almost become a sort of a tradition with the Indian team to put cake on the birthday boy’s face and Dhoni wasn’t wriggling his way out of this one. A lot of pictures went viral on social media of the former skipper’s face smeared with cake.
Meanwhile, the stars of the team, led by captain Virat Kohli took to social media to post pictures of the celebration. Virat posted a picture on Instagram with Dhoni’s face covered with cake. Other team members also poured wishes for wicketkeeper-batsman but the most special one was his wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni. She took to Instagram to post an adorable picture of Dhoni with their daughter Ziva. Sakshi also posted pictures of birthday celebrations where Dhoni is seen all caked up. Ajinkya Rahane too posted a selfie with Dhoni on Twitter.
The Indian Team also had another reason to celebrate as they won the ODI series against Windies. India flexed their muscles in scintillating style as they thumped West Indies by 8 wickets at the Sabina Park in Jamaica to wrap up the five-match series 3-1. The bowlers once again restricted the hosts to a modest total of 205-9 in the designated 50 overs, while during the chase, skipper Virat Kohli led from the front with yet another century to guide India home with 73 balls to spare. The team will face off against the West Indies in one-off T20 International on Sunday.
