Indore : Police arrested a man and his brother for killing a youth and dumping his body in bushes within six hours of the incident under Lasudiya police station area on Saturday.

ASP Manoj Rai said that 24-year-old Lokesh Pawar of Bijjukhedi village was missing since Friday night. His elder brother Arjun had informed police that Lokesh did not return home from his job till late at night after which a search was launched in and around the village. Police though found Lokesh’s bike on the road leading to Bijjukhedi, his body was not there.

Later, at around 8 am on Saturday, Lokesh’s body was found murdered in the bushes of a nearby farming land. A team from Lasudiya police station along with FSL team reached the spot and after inspecting the spot, revealed that Lokesh was strangled to death.

Police started investigation after sending the body for autopsy and came to know that Lokesh had closer ties with his friend Akhilesh Songara’s wife. He even used to meet her in the absence of Akhilesh, which led to an altercation between Lokesh and Akhilesh. The duo even had a fight over the issue prior to the incident.

Centring the investigation on the information, police detained Akhilesh, who during interrogation confessed to kill Lokesh with the help of his younger brother Pradeep. He told police that her wife had extra marital affair with Lokesh, which he opposed earlier. However, as Lokesh did not stop meeting his wife, he prepared a plan to eliminate Lokesh.

As per the plan, Akhilesh called his brother Pradeep to a deserted place falling on the Lokesh’s route back home from work. The duo then stopped the victim and Akhilesh strangulated Lokesh with hand to death before dumping his body in the bushes.

With strange audacity the killer duo did not even flee the village after killing Lokesh and rather tried to mislead the villagers and police by pretending to find Lokesh by participating in the search at night.
