Chhota Rajan aide sends legal notice to filmmaker, warning him to take consent from Muthappa Rai before shooting for film on gangster
Mumbai: With a legal notice by a close aide of underworld gangster Chhota Rajan, Bollywood film maker Ram Gopal Verma has once again come in the spotlight.
On Friday, Suleiman Kadri alias Yusuf Bacha Khan, who is currently lodged in the Arthur Road jail, has sent a legal notice to Verma, after learning of his (Verma) next film.
In a two-page notice, Bacha Khan has stated that he learnt about Verma’s plan to make a film on gangster Muthappa Rai.
It may be recalled that Bacha Khan has worked for some time with Rai and both of them were arrested by the Karnataka Police.
Pointing out at Verma’s plan to make a film on Rai’s life, the notice states that the filmmaker has not acquired Bacha Khan’s consent and neither has he shown him (Bacha Khan) the script for the anticipated movie.
Accordingly, Bacha Khan has asked Verma to refrain from showing his ‘character’ in the movie, as there are chances that the filmmaker can show him in a ‘villainous’ manner. He has said that this move of Verma can ‘malign’ his image publicly.
The legal notice sent through Bacha Khan’s advocates Raees Khan and Nazneen Shaikh has warned of civil and criminal action against the filmmaker if he fails to get Bacha Khan’s consent before going ahead with the movie.
Earlier this year, Verma announced that he would soon start working on his next project, a film on the life of gangster Rai. He had also announced that he would be signing actor Vivek Oberoi for this movie which will be made in several languages, including Hindi.
