Board exams results: Girls outshine boys in Indore district

Indore: The girls outclassed the boys in the class X and XII examination results declared by MP Board of Secondary Education from chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s residence in Bhopal at 11.15 am on Monday.  As per the statistics issued by the board, 70.36 percent of total students who took the examination have cleared the X board examination in Indore district.

Overall, 66.54 percent of the total students who appeared in MP cleared the X board examination. In Indore district, 37,242 students had registered themselves for class X board examination out of which 36,554 appeared in the examination.

The MP Board has withheld results of 20 students citing different reasons while results of two students were cancelled in Indore district. Board declared results of 36,532 students including 19,853 boys and 16,679 girls. In class XII board examination, 75.16 percent of the total students who appeared in the examination passed in Indore district compared to state figure of 68.07 percent.

Of the total, 80 percent girls cleared the examination compared to 71.16 percent of boys who passed. In Madhya Pradesh, 5.99 lakh students had registered themselves for class XII board examination of whom 4.04 lakh cleared the exam. In Indore district, 29,469 students registered themselves for the exam and 21,886 students qualified for the higher education. Out of total number of students who cleared the examination, 59 per cent students scored first division.

However, when it comes to the number of students in merit list, only three girls from the district ensured place in the list of 181 students across the state that were placed in the top 10 position. Shreya Pandey, daughter of Sushil Pandey and student of Shri Vaishnav Girls Higher Secondary School claimed seventh position as she scored 489 out of 500 marks (97.8 per cent).

Jyotsana Chouhan, daughter of Shankar Singh Chouhan and a student of Mount Carmel Higher Secondary School and Sanjana Kumawat, daughter of Rajesh Kumawat and a student of Nav Adarsh Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School shared ninth position respectively with 487 out of 500 marks each (97.4 per cent).

In district-level merit list, Dolly Goswami, daughte rof Omprakash Goswami, a student of New Pnik Flower Higerh Secondary School stood first with 485 marks (97 per cent), followed by Arya Patel, daughter of Ashok Patel, student of Government ACM Girls Higher Secondary School and Divyashree Jain, daughter of Pritesh Jain, a student of Saraswati Shishu Mandir Higher Secondary School and Sanjay Soni, son of Mangilal Soni, a student Government Higher School, Gandhinagar and claimed second spot with 483 marks each (96.6 per cent), while Yogesh Dhewa, son of Nandlal Dhewa and student of Mount Carmel Higher Secondary School, Indore scored 482 marks (96.4 per cent) and stood third.

In class 12 state-level merit list announced by board, no student from Indore district managed to score position either in agriculture, humanities or in mathematics group (science stream). In biology group (science stream), Rani Tanwar, daughter of Ramchandra Tanwar and a student of Government Multipurpose Malharashram Higher Secondary School from Indore with 474 out of 500 marks stood fourth.

In commerce stream, Indore’s Ravindra Prajapati, son of Asharam Prajapati, a student of Government Multipurpose Malharashram Higher Secondary School, Indore with 473 marks stood third. Dimple Kumawat, daughter of Umesh Kumawat, a student of Pink Flower Higher Secondary School, Indore with 470 marks stood sixth position. Saloni Kalra, daughter of Sunil Kalra, student of Teerathbai Kalachand Higher Secondary School, Indore with 469 marks stood seventh position in the state-level merit.

Darshita Soni, daughter of Veepul Soni, a student of Sarafa Vidhya Niketan Girls Higher Secondary School, Indore and Bhavishya Kaur Sahani, daughter of Trilok Singh Sahani and student of Teerathbai Kalachand Higher Secondary School, Indore with 468 marks each secured eighth position.

Sapna, daughter of Narendra, a student of Government Multipurpose Malharashram Higher Secondary School, Indore with 467 marks stood ninth. Ravindra Singh, son of Rajendra Singh and a student Government Multipurpose Malharashram Higher Secondary School, Indore with 466 marks stood 10th.

CLASS XII MP MERIT LIST

No student from Indore district figures in MP merit list in agriculture, humanities or in mathematics group (science stream).

BIOLOGY

In biology (science stream), Rani Tanwar, daughter of Ramchandra Tanwar and  student of Government Multipurpose Malharashram Higher Secondary School, Indore, with 474 out of 500 marks stood fourth.

COMMERCE

Ravindra Prajapati, son of Asharam Prajapati, student of Government Multipurpose Malharashram Higher Secondary School, Indore, with 473 marks, stood third. Dimple Kumawat, daughter of Umesh Kumawat, student of Pink Flower Higher Secondary School, Indore, with 470 marks bagged sixth position.

Saloni Kalra, daughter of Sunil Kalra, student of Teerathbai Kalachand Higher Secondary School, Indore, with 469 marks got seventh position.
