BMC Elections: BJP mocks Shiv Sena through ‘Khau Sena’

With only 4 days left for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, the war between Shiv Sena and BJP has intensified more. After the alliance breakup of Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), both parties are involved in war of words.

The ties between both parties are so strained that BJP as written an application to State Election Commission on banning Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece ‘Saamna’ for three days. But after engaging in war words, BJP has come up with a unique and funny way to mock Shiv Sena.

Some BJP workers has launched a unofficial series named ‘Khau Sena’, which takes a dig at friend-turned-enemy Shiv Sena. These videos allegedly blames Shiv Sena of doing corruptions in BMC. These videos are part of BJP’s online campaigning for the upcoming civic body elections.

The video starts with video starts with tiger roaring which gives hints that the inspiration was taken from the iconic Hollywood studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s mascot, Leo. The series features senior and a junior tiger, obviously hints at Uddhav and Aditya Thackeray without naming them. The video’s allegedly points at the mismanagement and the corruption in BMC. In all these videos make fun of Shiv Sena’s mascot ‘tiger’, which has been the lucky mascot for the Sena since Balashaheb Thackeray formed the party.

Each of this video’s has a character ‘Tiger’, who is shown taking bribes, hiring corrupt engineers, and filling potholes. The series then takes a jibe at various allegations against and embarrassing incidents for Shiv Sena. It also mocks the incident when Aditya Thackeray’s BMW collided with another car, and the other person taking full responsibility for the accident. The video series also takes a dig at Shiv Sena for the death of one Humboldt penguins which had been brought to the Byculla Zoo.

The series is probably titled ‘Khau Sena’ in an reference of eating money(corruption), which can be only stopped by BJP. The videos are funny but shows how much the enmity between both the parties have grown over the past few days. The war of words has ended in dark comical videos; it will be fun to see how Shiv Sena answers these videos.
