Bollywood superstar Dilip Kumar turns 94 today. He is a super star of India and India proud of it. He awarded Bharat Ratna for his contribution to Indian Cinema.

The legendary actor is respected hugely inside the entertainment industry and the outer worlds of showbiz. Satyajit Ray called him “ultimate method actor” in Bollywood.

Dilip Kumar was a very true hero of Bollywood and his style and act was copied by today’s actors but injecting life into the character and important part of a film.

Keeping aside of legendary status of Dilip Ji, who has been caught up many controversies in his life.

Dilip Kumar name

Dilip Kumar born in Peshawar. His real name was Muhammad Yusuf Khan. His was a fruit seller. Dilip kumar family’s relocated to Mumbai in 1930 and in the early 1940 Yusuf Khan moved to Pune and started off which his canteen business and supplying dry fruits.

Few know that Dilip Kumar was the first Bollywood superstar who belonged from Pakistan. When his real name came into public at that time whole India where shock that he is Pakistani. The named Dilip Kumar was given by Devika Rani owner of Bombay talkies.

Affair with Pakistani woman Asma

During eighties, Dilip Kumar faced a scandal that Dilip love affair with a Pakistani woman Asma and also a marry with her in 1980. However his marriage didn’t last long and they divorced within 2 years.

Second marriage with Saira banu

After divorcing to Pakistani woman Asma, it was big nightmare with Saira Banu. The Dilip kumar married to Saira Banu secretly. This news shock Bollywood industries. Saira Banu was indeed a true lover, she graciously accepted Dilip Kumar back after his marriage with Asma was over.

Affair with Madhubala

The screen icon fondly remember Madhubala as great artiste and “vivacious and spirited person” with whom he attained an ease while working in 1951 film “Tarana”.

Dilip kumar said, “I must admit that I was attracted to her (Madhubala) both as a fine co-star and as a person who had some of the attributes I hoped to find in a woman at that age and time…She, as I said earlier, was very sprightly and vivacious and, as such, she could draw me out of my shyness and reticence effortlessly,” Kumar says in the book, published by Hay House.

Dilip Kumar and Suraiya controversy

It said that, when Dilip Kumar and Suraiya starrer Janwar came to sudden halt as after a romantic scene, the hero made a not so nice comment about the heroine to his cronies and at that time being a bigger star than he, Suraiya simply walked out of the project when she heard what he had said about her.

Dilip Kumar was an Indian secret agent

Former Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri  said, Dilip kumar was a Indian secret agent. Dilip Kumar Saab visited Pakistan twice secretly to bring Hindus and Muslims together. I have disclosed it in my book (Neither a hawk nor a dove) as well.

Kasuri met Dilip Kumar at his Bandra residence, after releasing his controversial book with Sudheendra Kulkarni. he spent about an hour with the thespian and his wife actress Saira Banu discussing politics and films.

Dilip Kumar even had to write to the then Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, for protection!

Property dispute with brother

The  legal dispute between Dilip kumar and two brother over property in Mumbai posh Pali Hill area as an affidavit has been filed on his behalf at Bombay High Court.

The affidavit filed by the actor’s wife Saira Banu states that the brothers-Ahsan and Aslam – have no rights over the bungalow which was demolished for redevelopment.

As per the 2007 agreement, Dilip Kumar was to provide accommodation of 1,200 sq ft flat to Ahsan, who is now 82, and 800 sq ft flat to Aslam, who is now 72. The need for agreement arose as the brothers had refused to vacate the bungalow when Dilip Kumar wanted to redevelop it.
