Mumbai: A 22-year-old youth, who was riding the bike along with two other pillion riders, killed in an accident at Bhandup on Sunday evening. The incident occurred on Sunday evening at 5 pm. Kaustubh Giri (22) was riding the bike while his two friends Shubham Kadam (22) and accused Amish Parab (22), who were riding pillion, have been injured in the accident. The accused, Devendra Dahikar (24), who was on his way from CTS colony towards Bhandup railway station, rammed into the bike from behind. Giri had left from his sister’s residence celebrating Raksha Bandhan on the fateful day.

The accused Dahikar is a resident of Bhayander. Giri is a resident of Sai Nagar residence at Bhandup. Kadam and Parab are residents of Kanjurmarg. Kadam and Parab were treated at Rajawadi Hospital at Ghatkopar. They were discharged on Monday.

According to Ramesh Khade, senior police inspector, Bhandup police said, “The accused Devendra Dahikar has been arrested on Sunday night.”
