Bigg Boss 11: This is the impact the Salman Khan hosted show had on Twitter

The Salman Khan hosted show Bigg Boss 11 came to an end just a couple of days ago. While there was huge coverage for the finale of the show, we decided to take a look at how the much talked about show affected the social networking site Twitter. So here are a few notes on what went down on the micro blogging site and who topped the list as the most talked about contestant on Bigg Boss 11.

As per the data, the micro blogging site Twitter that has seen a gradual increase in Indian users, recorded over 41 million Tweets in the course of the show from October 1, 2017 to January 15, 2018. With this, Bigg Boss 11 has now been ranked as the most talked about season of the reality show. If that wasn’t enough the official Twitter handle of Bigg Boss also saw a staggering number of tweets, as it garnered an impressive 5.3 million Tweets across the season, with the most Retweeted Tweet from receiving over 4,200 Tweets and was the one where actor, and now winner Shilpa Shinde walked down memory lane watching a video of her Bigg Boss 11 journey as a build-up to the finale.

Talking about the Bigg Boss 11 grand finale, with Shilpa Shinde being crowned the winner of Bigg Boss 11, Twitter mirrored the mood of millions of avid TV viewers as they expressed their joy and indulged in passionate discussions about the reality show. While the show was certainly a hot topic on the site, Shilpa too became the most talked about contestant of Bigg Boss 11.

However, prior to the grand finale episode during the weekend preceding the same (January 13 – 14 January, 2018), the tag #BiggBoss11 recorded over 5.7 million conversations as the show’s finale episode concluded. Much excitement and conversations around the contestants was witnessed across the season on Twitter. Mentions of actress Shilpa Shinde peaked on Twitter with over 3 million Tweets as she was crowned the winner. Apart from this, Shilpa Shinde also emerged as the most talked about contestant of the show, followed by Hina Khan and Vikas Gupta consecutively. While Priyank Sharma and computer engineer Luv Tyagi made it to the top 5.
