The election commission has taken action and resolved eighty percent of the complaints so far. EC had received more than 100 political complaints so far. More than 880 FIRs (First Information Report) have been lodged till date. “EC takes prompt action on all complaints. The complaints that come with evidence makes the commission’s process faster,” said, CEO VL Kantha Rao.
Officials in the commission said that more than thousand complaints have been received till date out of which about 100 complaints are purely political in nature. Eighty percent of the complaints have been resolved in the stipulated time while twenty percent are stuck in process of verification.
More than 880 FIRs have been filed for model code of violation till date across the state. The prominent FIRs include two cases where CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan was present as the key speaker. A case was registered against organiser for organising a programme sant samagam at Hindi Bhawan. Similarly, FIR have been registered against the organiser of a programme held at Ravindra Bhawan. School kids were present in the programme that was addressed by CM Chouhan.
