BHOPAL: A 24-year-old girl who was sent to jail on charge of selling drugs, was murdered at the market under Ashoka Garden police station on Tuesday. She was jailed in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
As per the police, Sunita, 24, daughter of Devi Singh Thakur, was on her way from Indrapuri riding her two-wheeler with her cousin. An unidentified youth attacked her with knife. She fell down on the road. She was taken to Vedanata Hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. She was a drug peddler so was sent to jail once on charge of selling ganja.
ASP Hitesh Choudhary said, “She was jailed under NDPS Act. She ran a paan-shop. She was attacked in full view at the market under Ashoka Garden police station. The accused managed to flee from spot.”
