Beef in Mumbai? Deonar cops seize 350 kgs of meat suspected to be beef

Mumbai: The Deonar police have seized 350 kilograms of meat suspected to be ‘beef’ from a mutton shop on Wednesday morning. Acting on the tip off , a team of policemen intercepted an Ola car in which the meat was transported from Shrirampur at Ahmednagar to a shop at Deonar and Nagpada. Another police team, kept a watch and carried a search at Mohammadiya shop at Dr Zakir Hussain nagar at Govandi where the meat was supplied.

According to sub-inspector Mayuresh Shinde, Deonar police,” The car was incepted on Wednesday morning at 10 am. We are awaiting the reports from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered. The driver Shabbir Abdul Bashir Shaikh (42) has been arrested.”
