Riding high on use of information technology, the office of chief electoral officer has introduced an app – Mat %. The app will help polling and sector officers to speedily and seamlessly send the data about poll percentage per hour.  The app is aimed to get the data of polling percentage faster and through reliable means. The mobile app is prepared by Chief Electoral Officer for purpose of making information available to people about percentage of voting.

The app will be used by presiding officer, polling officer number 1 and sector officer. By downloading the app from Google Play Store in Android mobile phones, the user has to login in the app with their mobile number. The mapping of mobile number of each presiding officer will be done from their polling booths. Thus, the app will be used only for mobile number registered for each polling booth.

On voting day, the concerned presiding officer/polling officer or sector magistrate will send information of male and female voters who cast the votes at polling booths every hour. This will be collected in the server located at Bhopal headquarter.  The mobile app will work on online mode but at locations without the internet network. The data can be recorded on the app in offline mode through SMS service. Thus, updated voting information will be available from all polling stations of the state through this mobile app. This will be helpful in getting information about the voting percentage from time to time.
