Age limit relaxed for railway jobs

New Delhi : The Railway Ministry on Monday extended the relaxation of the upper age limit for all 90,000 posts in Group Level I and II posts and announced that candidates can take exam in their respective languages like Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, etc.

A ministry spokesman said the last date for submission of applications is also being extended for all candidates. To accelerate the recruitment, the Railways is entertaining only online applications, he said.

In case of the lowest category, the age relaxation is from 31 to 33 years in case of general category, from 34 to 36 years in case of OBC, and from 36 to 38 years in case of SC and ST candidates. The minimum qualification is Class X pass and ITI.

As regards the assistant loco pilots and technicians, the upper age limit is raised from 28 to 30 years for general category, from 31 to 33 years for OBCs, and from 33 to 35 years in case of SC and ST candidates. The minimum qualification is Class X and ITI or diploma or graduation in engineering.
