Aakanksha Singh bags first regional film

Aakanksha Singh, who has starred in successful TV shows like Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha among others, has bagged a South Indian film. Speaking about the film, Aakanksha says, “I got a call for the project as they have seen my work. I went for the narration of the film and met them. I chose to do it because usually Telugu cinema is a male-oriented, they don’t have much more to offer to the actress, but this film has equal parts for the male and female protagonists and it’s a soft, slice-of-life romantic film with lot of emotions. I really liked the story so said yes. I always believed in doing something new and pushing my limits, so this is next.”

For the actress, who was last seen in Badrinath Ki Dulhania as Alia bhatt’s best friend, this will be her first regional film. Aakanksha will be seen opposite superstar Nagarjuna’s nephew, Sumanth. The yet untitled written and directed by Goutham, is currently being shot in Hyderabad and is tentatively slated for August release.
