A century is not enough: Alt Balaji plans a biopic on former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly

A delightful moment for Cricket enthusiasts has arrived as a biopic on Sourav Ganguly is going to be made. While films based on life of cricketers MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar have already hit the theatres, the film on India’s former captain may soon become a reality.

Ekta Kapoor’s Alt Balaji, a subscription-based video on demand platform, has shown interest in making the film and is in talks with Sourav Ganguly. The film will be based on the book ‘A Century is not Enough’, which is co-authored by Sourav.

According to a leading daily, the former Indian captain is elated about the project after a few rounds of talks. He is keen on a prominent Kolkata director for taking up the project while Ekta is looking for a director from Mumbai for the film. “I have had a few discussions with Balaji, though nothing is final yet. I’ll have more details once we take this forward,” Sourav Ganguly told the leading daily.

The book, ‘A Century is not Enough: My Roller-coaster Ride to Success’, covers Sourav Ganguly’s life journey. It covers the journey of the cricketer’s life from Kolkata’s Biren Roy Road to the balcony at Lord’s and also the Indian Premier League.
