Indore :  One more Swine flu patient died at CHL Hospital here, on Wednesday. With this, the number of deaths has reached two this year. The H1N1 virus is spreading its tentacles in the city slowly. Last year more than 150 deaths were recorded.

The deceased was identified as a 44-year-old male patient from Dewas and was admitted to the hospital on January 26.

“He was referred to the hospital from Dewas after finding him suspect of the disease. His samples were tested positive on January 28 and was in critical condition,” IDSP In-charge Dr GL Sodhi said.

Earlier, a city patient succumbed to the disease, last month. Total number of positive patients has reached to 7 so far.

Chief Medical Health Officer Dr Shantilal Porwal said, “We are providing every possible medicinal support to patients and hospitals. Taking precautions is the best way to be safe from ‘pig influenza’,” he said.

According to the CMHO, the month of February and March are crucial as the disease spreads in these two months, as per the trends of last few years.
