Tall claims of the IMC and administration exposed during Sunday night rains

Indore : After Sunday night downpour, the city witnessed light to medium shower throughout the day on Monday. In last two days, the City recorded 110.48mm (4 inch) rainfall. With this, the total rainfall recorded in the season so far is 286.20mm. In comparison to last year, 50 mm more rainfall has been registered during this time.

The rainfall also reduced temperature of the city. The maximum temperature recorded on Monday was 25.2 degrees Celsius while minimum temperature was recorded at 22.3 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains on Tuesday. Heavy rainfall of the current monsoon season was recorded on Sunday night. It started at 2 am and continued till Monday morning. The Met sources said that during this time, a total of 43 mm rainfall was recorded. The heavy rainfall also created water logging problems in various low-lying areas of the city. However, by afternoon, rainwater was receded in most areas.

Reviewing monsoon preparations, Collector P Narahari instructed the SDM of Musakhedi area for demarcation of the area. After demarcation, encroachments in the area would be demolished. He further said that encroachment is solely responsible for water logging.
