New Delhi: Apex body of Indian consumer organisations, Consumer Coordination Council (CCC) today demanded that telecom players should stop unwanted services.

The demands have been raised by the CCC under the campaign ‘Fix Our Phone Rights’.

“We will send all the resolutions to the Consumer Affairs Ministry, telecom operators and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI),”CCC Present Chairman Krishna Reddy told reporters here.

Meanwhile as per the new rules, consumers can register complaint about wrongful activation of value added services (VAS) like mobile Internet and caller tunes on a new common number, 155223, for all operators.

Also, the operators would have to refund the amount charged for such activation of services if consumers inform about it within 24 hours on this common number.

Other major demands, raised by the organisation are — prepaid customers shall get bills to verify their calls, network problems should not interrupt the telephone talking, immediately stop wrong billings and shift the telecom towers from public places to lonely places.

Reddy added that the organisation will sum up campaign on March 22 and will release all resolutions collected consumers and other organisations from across India related phone rights.
