The Women’s Wing of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) also known as FLO (FICCI Ladies Organisation) has organized a unique awards ceremony.
This event, which assesses the impact that their skilling initiative SWELL –Skilling Women Empowering Lives – has made, felicitated 11 achievers at the hands of BJP Member of Parliament PoonamMahajan in Mumbai.
Women and girls from economically challenged backgrounds, were selected for the award by a specially constituted jury.
The three-member jury interacted with each student, evaluating the effect the training had had on their lives and their persona, selecting 11 awardees in the process.
SWELL, a project initiated in the year 2014-2015 by the FLO Mumbai chapter, has to date facilitated the training of115 women and young girls (this includes
5 boys as well).
