New Delhi: The Supreme Court asked Fortis Healthcare Ltd’s former promoters Malvinder and Shivinder Singh to set aside their differences and figure out a way to pay Rs 35 bn to Daiichi Sankyo Co Ltd. SC asked the brothers to “reflect… (and) consult with lawyers, accountants”; on how the order by a Singapore-based arbitration court will be implemented.

“You (brothers) are the flag-bearers of Indian healthcare industry, it does not suit you to…(not fulfil an arbitration order),” said Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi to the brothers present in court. The Chief Justice also asked Shivinder Singh, who had earlier renounced the world, to “start thinking about money,” now that he has returned to the material world.
