New Delhi: Taking positive cues from overseas markets, silver prices rose by 0.48 per cent to Rs 33,724 per kg in futures trading today as participants increased their positions. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December rose by Rs 162, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 33,724 per kg in a business turnover of 303 lots.
On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in far-month March next year traded higher by Rs 142, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 34,415 per kg in eight lots. Traders attributed the rise in silver futures to a firm global trend. Globally, silver rose 0.8 per cent to USD 14.29 an ounce in Singapore.
