New Delhi: Tracking a firming trend overseas, silver prices rose by 1.04 per cent to Rs 37,557 per kg in futures trading today as traders built up fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May rose by Rs 387, or 1.04 per cent, to Rs 37,557 per kg, in a business turnover of 60 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in March gained Rs 325, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 37,105 per kg in 922 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by participants amid firming trend in global markets mainly led to the rise in silver prices at futures trade. Meanwhile, silver rose 0.65 per cent to USD 15.38 an ounce in Singapore.
