Sensex provisionally closes with gains of 414 points

Mumbai: Continuing on an upward trajectory, a benchmark index of the Indian equities market, the sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), provisionally ended the day’s trade with gains of 414 points on Monday.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also provisionally closed the day’s trade with gains. It rose by 128.15 points or 1.56 percent at 8,353.10 points.

The Sensex, which opened at 27,427.19 points, closed the day’s trade at 27,730.21 points (3.35 p.m.), up 414.04 points or 1.52 percent from the previous day’s close at 27,316.17 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 27,782.31 points and a low of 27,417.03 points in the intra-day trade.

This is the seventh consecutive session of gains for the barometer index.
