Sensex gains 164 points in early trade

Mumbai: A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Monday was trading 164.32 points, or 0.67 percent, up during the morning session. The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 45.90 points, or 0.62 percent, up at 7,468.35 points.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 24,540.97 points, was trading at 24,599.98 points (at 9.28 a.m.) in the early session, up 164.32 points or 0.67 percent from the previous day’s close at 24,435.66 points. The Sensex touched a high of 24,610.14 points and a low of 24,521.59 points in the trade so far.
