MUMBAI: Government has extended Reserve Bank of India Deputy Governor H.R. Khan’s tenure for two years with effect from Friday, the central bank said. Khan’s term was set to expire on Thursday. His responsibilities at the central bank included Department of Government and Bank Accounts, Inspection Department, Department of Payment and Settlement Systems, Foreign Exchange Department and Department of External Investments and Operations. He also looked after the Internal Debt Management Department, Department of Banking Supervision and Central Security Cell. Cogencis had earlier today reported that the government was most likely to re-appoint Khan as RBI Deputy Governor.
