New Delhi: Luxury sports car maker Porsche Thursday launched the all new 911 range in India with price starting at Rs 1.82 crore (ex-showroom). The 911 Carrera S is priced at Rs 1.82 crore while the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet is tagged at Rs 1.99 crore. The rear-engine model range has been redesigned and now showcases a more muscular look and also embracing the future with technology woven into its DNA.

“Just like the first generation, the latest 911 is a sports car for the new era. Our icon has once again evolved and is now more powerful, more emotional, and more efficient than its predecessors. The 911 Carrera S and the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet are now available in India for booking,” Porsche India Director Pavan Shetty said. The eighth generation maintains the 911’s status as a pure driver’s car that also offers everyday usability and unique design, he added. The new 911’s silhouette comes with an exterior design that draws on its earlier generations, making it familiar and yet new.

911 Carrera S models deliver 450 hp
The turbocharged flat-six engine of the 911 Carrera S and the Carrera S Cabriolet now produces 450 hp. This corresponds to an increase of 30 hp compared with the previous generation. Both 911 models beat the four-second mark for acceleration from zero to 100 km/h: the rear-wheel drive 911 Carrera S needs 3.7 seconds and the Carrera S Cabriolet just 3.9 seconds. This makes both cars 0.4 seconds faster. The optional Sport Chrono Package reduces the sprint by a further 0.2 seconds. Top speeds are now measured at 308 km/h for the 911 Carrera S and 306 km/h for the soft-top version.
