New Delhi: Praising the youth for turning ‘Startup India’ into a reality by embracing the scheme and launching initiatives across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that he was amazed by the level of creativity and the scale of development being displayed by the youngsters.

“The youth of this nation have amazed me. When ‘Startup India’ was launched on 16th January, I experienced the energy and the enthusiasm being directed by them towards the scheme. Lakhs of youngsters registered for the event but they could not be accommodated due to lack of space which is why the venue was shifted to the Vigyan Bhawan. It was a rare incident that the youth were connected with each other through the programme,” the Prime Minister said in his 16th ‘Mann ki Baat’ address.

Asserting that ‘Startup’ India initiative had dispelled the notion that start up’s are only about IT, the Prime Minister said that the opportunities were endless in this scheme and added that it was a ‘sophisticated’ business. “When I was in Sikkim, I met Anurag Agarwal and Siddhi Karnani who graduated from IIM, who were working on a start up in regards with organic farming. They have a business of globally marketing the herbal and organic produces, which is simply incredible,” the Prime Minister said.

He added that he had received some inspirational feedback on his ‘Narendra Modi App’ where he had called for suggestions on his ‘Startup India’ scheme and said that he would like it if the submissions keep on coming regularly.

“There is a youth named Vishwas Dwivedi, who has started an on-line kitchen start-up where through on-line networking he delivered meals to middle-class families. Then we have Dignesh Pathak, who had decided to work on a start-up devoted to farmers, particularly animal feed,” the Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Modi urged the people to send him more suggestions and ideas of innovative start-ups, which can be a source of influence and inspiration to the nation.
