A seminar organised by the Indian Merchants’ Chamber (IMC) aptly titled ‘Indian Economy: Roadmap to Recovery’ was a resounding success. It was attended by Yashwant Sinha, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance and former Union Finance Minister, Arun Shourie, former Union Minister for Disinvestment, Communication and Information Technology, and Suresh Prabhu, former Union Minister for Power, who came together to express their views on the growth and development of the economy. During the seminar, Niranjan Hiranandani, President, IMC referred to a paradigm of thought and action in his welcome speech. He expressed his concern at the government’s inability to handle the inflationary situation. Shailesh Haribhakti, former President, IMC, the moderator of the discussion expressed displeasure at the lack of long-term investment.
