NEW DELHI: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Wednesday said it has no objection to the proposed acquisition of debt-ridden Bhushan Power and Steel (BPSL) by Tata Steel as it will not impact competition in the sector.

“@CCI India finds no appreciable adverse effect on competition in respect of Tata Steel’s proposed acquisition of 100 per cent of the total issued and paid up capital of Bhushan Power and Steel,” CCI said on its official Twitter handle.

Bhushan Power and Steel owes about Rs 45,000 crore to its lenders.
