Markets to remain closed today on account of Lok Sabha Polls

Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain closed for trade on April 29, 2019 as Mumbai goes to polls for Lok Sabha Election 2019. Commodity markets, including metal and bullion, will also remain closed.

There will be no trading activity in forex and commodity futures markets as well.

The Sensex on Friday ended 336.47 points higher at 39,067.33 while the broader index Nifty rose 112.90 points to 11,754.70. Positive action was seen in the closing hour.

However, the market breadth was not so positive with 1,065 shares advancing, 1,436 shares declining and 147 shares remaining unchanged.

Tata Steel posting positive results was top gainer on the index, while, while losers included Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Grasim Industries among others.
