Markets open in green: Indices at record highs; Sensex surges to 52,566, Nifty breaches 15,800 levels

The benchmark indices opened at record levels on Friday as indicated by trends on SGX Nifty. The Sensex was up 228.01 points or 0.44 percent at 52,528.48. The Nifty was up 73.20 points or 0.47 percent at 15,811.00.

PowerGrid and Tata Steel were the major winners.

At 09:02 IST, the Sensex was up 222.67 points or 0.43 percent at 52523.14, and the Nifty was up 58.20 points or 0.37 percent at 15,796.00.

Q4 results today

Stock specific actions due to Q4 results can be witnessed in stocks like BHEL, SUN TV, BEML, Cochin Shipyard, Goa Carbon etc.

Dow Jones closed record high

The Dow Jones closed higher on Thursday at its record high after better than expected inflation data. The 10 years U.S. bond yield fell to a three month low of 1.43 percent.

On Thursday, the ECB also raised its recovery outlook and committed to purchasing 1.85 trillion euros ($2.2 trillion) of bonds until March 2022.

Asian stocks trade mixed

Asian stocks were mixed in early Friday trade. Korean, Taiwan and Hong Kong indices are trading in green while Chinese and Japanese markets are trading in red. Overall, analysts are quite bullish on markets and believe that any significant dip is a good opportunity to accumulate quality stocks.
