NEW DELHi:  The country’s largest refiner, Indian Oil Corp Ltd, has given an in-principle approval to a 4 MW solar power project at Narimanam in Tamil Nadu, in a bid to reduce its carbon footprint, petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan  said in the Lok sbaha. “The objective is to generate green energy for captive consumption at IOCL (Indian Oil Corp Ltd) locations directly or through grid so as to reduce carbon footprint,” a release issued by the government said. It, however, did not mention any further modalities with regard to the proposed project.
