Raipur : Union health and family welfare minister Gulam Nabi Azad said that all the state governments have been giving their full support to the Central Government for developing and extending the health facilities and medical education across the nation. The state government, led by Dr Raman Singh has provided all sorts of necessary facilities like sufficient land, electricity supply, water and others for the establishment of All India Medical Science Institute (AIMS) in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur.
He added that CM Dr Singh took personal interests for the establishment of AIMS in Raipur and made all necessary arrangements. Due to that, the years old dream of the establishment of AIMS’s sixth centre of the country in Raipur fulfilled. Azad was telling this while dedicating the Raipur AIMS’s grand campus here on Thursday.
He added that total 4089 posts of doctors, employees and officials have been sanctioned for Raipur AIMS.
While welcoming Mr Azad, chief minister Dr Raman Singh said on the occasion that now the residents of Chhattisgarh will be able to get the world-class medical facilities like Delhi, AIMS in Raipur. With establishment of AIMS in Raipur, the residents of nearby states will also be able to get the medical facilities. During the public dedication programme of AIMS, on the request of chief minister Dr Raman Singh and Union minister of state for agriculture Charandas Mahant, Union health minister Gulam Nabi Azad announced to construct a state-level cancer treatment and research centres at Bilaspur and Manendragarh. On the occasion, Dr Singh proposed the vote of thanks towards all the leaders, public representatives and officials for making their contribution to fulfillment of this dream of establishing AIMS in Raipur. Union minister of state Charandas Mahant, state health minister Amar Agrawal, Union principal secretary of health Lavkumar Verma also addressed on the occasion. Director of Raipur AIMS Dr Nitin Nagarkar gave the welcome address.
