NEW DELHI : The government will unveil the oil and gas blocks to be auctioned under the 10th round of the new exploration licensing policy by Sunday, Oil Secretary Vivek Rae said. “Well, I think, 12th or 13th we will unveil the first set of blocks. Forty-six (blocks) have been cleared by all concerned ministries and let people have an idea about what blocks are on offer,” he said on the sidelines of a industry event.
“The exact terms and conditions for the bids, we will roll out in a few weeks because that will depend on the revenue sharing contract,” Rae said. The government concluded allocation of the last of the three blocks bid in the ninth round of NELP during January last year.
The NELP-X will be based on the principles of a uniform licensing policy for which the ministry had sought views of stakeholders. The proposed uniform licensing policy is aimed at ensuring uniformity in contractual provisions for exploration and production of all kinds of hydrocarbons, and in a particular acreage, operators will be able to explore all types of hydrocarbon resources.
