GAIL (India) Limited’s new multi-storeyed office building complex, GAIL Jubilee Tower at Noida, National Capital Region – an iconic structure symbolizing GAIL’s growth – has bagged the LEED Platinum Green Building rating, the highest possible rating awarded by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). The 21-storeyed building with basement and total built-up area of 250,000 sq ft (approx.) also has 3-tier underground mechanized car-parking connected via an underground tunnel. With seating for 600 persons, it houses various departments of GAIL such as the National Gas Management Centre, Cafeteria, Multipurpose Hall and Library, with the Management being located on the 21st floor. Designed in line with Green Building specifications of LEED Platinum rating, GAIL Jubilee Tower has captive power generation plant using two Gas Engine Generators of 800kW capacity each. Waste heat from Gas Engine Generators is used to run Vapour Absorption Machine for the air-conditioning system, greatly reducing electrical load. It has low consumption water taps, urinal sensors minimize water usage and rainwater harvesting system uses surface run-off to recharge groundwater table.
