Foxconn’s plant in Chennai suspends ops: Workers union

Chennai:  Ahead of a proposed suspension of production from Foxconn’s plant here from December 24, employees union said they were not allowed to enter the facility as the company has declared holiday till Tuesday.  Company security personnel prevented workers from entering the premises, representatives of Foxconn India Thozhilalargal Sangam (Foxconn India Employees Union) said.  Following the exit of Nokia India from Sriperumbudur, the company announced it would suspend production from December 24, as part of restructuring exercise.
