Mumbai:  In a strong demand for government bonds, overseas investors have put in bids worth over USD 1.45 billion (Rs 8,961 crore) in an auction for debt securities valued at about USD 678 million (Rs 4,176 crore).  At the end of two-hour auction, as many as 76 bids were made in the auction, of which 31 were declared successful.  Foreign investors have put in over Rs 1.2 lakh crore in the debt market so far in 2014. The equity market has also seen similar trends with overseas fund inflows of over Rs 83,000 crore since the beginning of the year.
