New Delhi : Finance Minister Arun Jaitley condoled the demise of Hero MotoCorp patriarch Brijmohan Lall Munjal, describing him as one of the greatest institution builders. “My condolences on the death of Brijmohan Lall Munjal. He was one of the greatest institution builders. May God bless the departed soul,” he tweeted.     Munjal passed away on Sunday after a brief illness. He was 92. Munjal was Hero MotoCorp’s Chairman Emeritus. Munjal was also on the board of directors of Easy Bill Ltd, Hero InvestCorp Ltd, Munjal Showa Ltd, Rockman Industries Ltd, Shivam Autotech Ltd, Survam Infrastructure Ltd, and Hero Future Energies Ltd.

“…  Lall also led the Hero Group to successfully venture into other areas such as auto ancillary, financial services, renewable energy, education and electronics,” Hero MotoCorp said.

Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sithramam, in her condolence message, said Munjal stood for quality and standards.

 “He was one of the doyens of Indian industry and his passing away has left a void, which would be impossible to fill,” CII President Sumit Mazumder said. Industry body Assocham termed Munjal’s demise as a “big loss to India Inc”.

Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) President Vinod Dasari said Munjal’s passing away comes as a “massive loss” to the entire automotive fraternity.
