The celebration of Diwali festival has begun with Dhanteras when people buy gold, silver, utensils, property and other precious goods. Buying these things today is believed to be auspicious. Earlier, before Diwali, the prices of Gold and Silver have risen. Today, the price of silver is Rs 41.30 (1 gram).
Besides the silver rates, silver coins rates have strengthened by Rs 1,000 to Rs 76,000 for buying and Rs 77,000 for selling of 100 pieces on an increased demand.
What to buy on Dhanteras?
On Dhanteras, which falls on the 13th day of the Ashwin month (as per Hindu calendar). It is believed that Lakshmi, Goddess of wealth and Ganesha, God of knowledge are worshipped. The day is believed to be auspicious to buy things such as Gold and Silver ornaments (including coins), Bonds, Household bookings. Silver coins are good for gifting as well. Purchasing, on this day, has special significance for increase in wealth and prosperity.
A broom is a must buy on this day, as it sweeps out the house and cleans out all the poorness of the house and brings prosperity in. It is also believed today is a good day for buying electronic items such as refrigerator, mobile phones or laptops.
