AAI encourages budding artists

New Delhi: To promote and encourage the works of amateur and budding artists in India, Airports Authority of India has started art galleries at its Airports.  The respective Airport Director will invite the amateur/ budding artist for display of their art work and there after a panel will be maintained to allow the artists to display their works for a period of 15 days.  The display of artists work would include sculpture or any other form of art and is not limited to paintings only. The artist shall have a right to put a tag “for sale” and the Art Work shall carry price tag fixed on it.  On sale of the Art Work, token fee @10% of sale value of the painting/Art work shall be payable to AAI.

BBMB Power Houses surpass CEA Target

Chandigarh:  After successfully surpassing CEA target by 10% to 26% during last 4 years since 2010, Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) Power Houses have again delivered sterling performance during the current year 2014-15. In fact, despite poor monsoon, annual generation target of 9275 MUs set by CEA was achieved by BBMB during this January itself. All BBMB power houses including Dehar Power House individually have achieved power house-wise targets set by CEA.

CISF recovers banned drug worth Rs 1 cr

New Delhi: Margaret Sibongile Khumbane (Passport No. A04182076) & Ms. Marcia Thembeke Chowdhury (PP No. A02902307) South African lady passengers on tourist visa bound to travel to Johannesburg via Abu Dhabi by flight No EY-211 (STD 0425 hrs) came at Gate No. 5, of Terminal-3 of IGI Airport. During screening/checking of their baggage, 25 kg of narcotics substance was found in their baggage in the form of white powder concealed in false ceiling of suitcase. The apprehended foreign passenger with the recovered 25 kg “Pseudo-ephedrine” drug (worth Rupees One Crore in International Market) were handed over by CISF to the NCB officials for further legal action. CISF apprehended a loader while he was tampering in check-in baggages at IGI Airport

Elder Pharma clears pending statutory payments related to TDS, PF, ESIC

Mumbai: Elder Pharmaceuticals Limited has made major pending statutory payments of TDS, provident fund, ESIC, Maharashtra Labour Welfare Fund (MLWF) etc to the tune of approx Rs 26 crore. The company has informed the BSE & NSE to this effect. Elder Pharmaceuticals plans to clear the backlog of other payments very soon. Elder is also in talks to raise fresh funds through a combination of debt or debt cum equity in order to improve its cash flow and performance.

CII inks pacts with Hitachi, Siemens

New Delhi:  Industry body CII signed agreements with Hitachi India Ltd and Siemens Ltd to set up a National Mission that will help realise government’s vision of creating 100 Smart Cities in the country.  Under the pact, CII will establish a National Mission for Smart Cities — a platform comprising industry leaders and experts to provide “policy advocacy and thought leadership” to government and other stakeholders. The forum will engage with central & state governments as well as other public authorities to promote the Smart City initiative, CII said.  CII said it also hopes to finalise a similar agreement with US-based Cisco Systems by the end of the month.
