CONCOR’S first Inland Container Depot in the state of Himachal Pradesh at BADDI was inaugurated by S.L. Thakur, Principal Commissioner (Central Excise) Chandigarh, Anil k. Gupta Chairman & Managing Director /CONCOR & Dr. Y. D. Banga.I.R.S., Commissioner Customs Ludhiana. S. S. Katyiar Additional Commissioner Customs , Dr. P.Alli Rani Director Finance/CONCOR , Sushil Kumar Executive Director Northern Region/CONCOR were also present.
The terminal will provide responsive cost effective & reliable logistics services to the industrial hub of Baddi at their doorstep. This ICD(Dry Port) is located at the heart of Baddi with the catchment areas of rich industrial belt of Baddi, Nalagarh, Barotiwala and other adjoining areas including Parwanoo, Kalka, Solan, Pinjore, Chandigarh etc. The terminal is equipped with modern infrastructure & state-of-Art handling equipment with fully computerized working environment linking this ICD with the network of other ICDs of CONCOR through V-Sat connectivity.
The ICD is presently road linked between ICD-Baddi and ICD-Ludhiana for movement of EXIM containers. The Rail connectivity will be between ICD- Ludhiana and various gateway ports. For domestic traffic, rail connectivity will be provided from Dapper terminal. Presently CONCOR is having regular domestic services for Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata from Dhappar
