RAIPUR: Chief Minister Raman Singh inaugurated the ambulance vehicles for ‘Mahtari Express’ scheme, on behalf of health and family welfare department of the state government. The inauguration was held in a massive public gathering organized during vikas yatra to district headquarters Bilaspur. After the inauguration by the chief minister, Mahtari Express scheme has been commenced in the entire state.
Ambulance services for pregnant women and children below one year will be made available on dialing toll-free number 108 under the scheme implemented by National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). About 20 Mahtari Express ambulances in Bilaspur district and 300 ambulances will provide services in the entire state.
In the inaugural programme, health minister Amar Agrawal, Vidhan sabha speaker Dharamlal Kaushik, panchayat and rural development minister Hemchand Yadav, food minister Punnulal Mohile, Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Corporation chairman Badridhar Diwan, Chhattisgarh Labour Welfare Board chairman SN Tiwari, Chhattisgarh Housing Board chairman Subhash Rao, MLA Raju Kshatri, and women commission member Sudha Tiwari and officials of other organizations along with a number of public representatives were also present.
