Raipur: Chhattisgarh government today informed the state Assembly that it has conducted raids on 38 mills and seized over 54,000 quintal of pulses and lentils this year. In the written reply to a question of Congress MLA Satyanarayan Sharma, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Punnulal Mohile said, “The state government has taken action against 38 pulses mills till November 18 this year, during which 54,299.58 quintal of pulses and lentils seized.”
“The seizure includes 12,428.67 quintal pulses and 41,870.91 quintal lentils,” the reply added. The high prices of pulses has been a major concern. There have been checks by authorities against hoarders and those who illegally stock the essential commodities.
