New Delhi: The Consumer Guidance Society of India (CGSI) undertook a Project to check the quality status of loose edible oil sold in the retail market. It has concluded that over 64% of the edible oils (namely Sesame Oil, Coconut Oil, Ground Nut Oil, Mustard Oil, Refined Oil, Cottonseed, Soybean, Godtel, etc.,) sold loose in the market is adulterated with inexpensive ‘Palmolein’ allowing Oil adulterators to make a very good amount of profit at the cost of the poor consumer.
