Central Railway RPF seizes drugs worth Rs 65K

On May 27, 2021 6.5 gms Mephedrone drugs valued at around Rs 65000 /- was recovered at CSMT Station, Mumbai Division of Central Railway.

On the basis of inputs received from Sr. DSC Mumbai & anti narcotics cell, Ghatkopar Unit, a joint team of RPF, GRP, & Narcotic kept strict vigil on the suspect who was to arrive at CSMT Railway station to board Mumbai- Howrah Mail. At about 21.05 hrs, the suspect, a lady was noticed approaching the CSMT entrance gate no- 4. As she entered the DFMD, her luggage was scanned at the luggage scanning machine. She was interrogated on her suspicious body language. She was taken to the post by RPF Lady Sub- inspector , Pallavi Khode of RPF post CSMT(M) along with GRP/ CSMT, and Narcotics branch . Following the procedure of personal search, about 6.5 gms of acidic substance like Cocaine was found with her. Narcotics department confirmed the recovered drugs as Mephedrone.

On enquiry, she revealed her name as Kajal Mandal Sumanto ageg 28 yrs, R/O DPS Galli, near Shiva Temple, Alegapuri, Room no- 203, 3rd floor, Nalasopara(E) Dist- Palghar. She was to board train no 02322 Mumbai- Howrah. She further revealed that she purchased the stuff from Grand Road, Mumbai. In this regard Case under Crime no 0247/2021 U/S 8(c),22(a) NDPS is regd at GRP / CSMT for further investigation
