New Delhi: Fair trade regulator CCI today rejected allegations that German major Adidas AG and Reebok India abused their dominant position with respect to sale of premium sports goods.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) keeps a check on unfair trade practices at market place.

The complaint was filed by Om Datt Sharma, the Managing Partner of Kalpataru Enterprises, alleging that Adidas AG, Reebok International Ltd and Reebok India Company, as a group, abused its dominant position in the relevant market of sale of premium sports goods in Noida.

Reebok is part of Adidas AG.

“… even though Adidas AG Group appears to be a dominant group in the relevant market…the facts available on record show no violation of provisions of Section 4 of the Act in the present matter,” the Commission said in a order.

Section 4 relates to abuse of dominant position of the Competition Act.

The complainant was a franchisee of Reebok India Company.
