In its fourth and largest single financing round, Bigtree Entertainment operated BookMyShow raised over Rs. 550 crore which is almost 3.6 times more than the last round of funding. In 2014, it raised around Rs. 150 crore and the venture was then valued at Rs.1000 crore. Now, the valuation of the company stands at Rs. 3000 crore.
In this round of funding, its existing investors – Network 18, Accel Partners, and SAIF Partners; and US – based new investor Stripes Group, participated to further strengthen BookMyShow’s position in the country. The company – Stripes Group will get on board its experience in digital entertainment.
Recently, the ticketing platform had expanded to Indonesia with this infusion the company will be able to achieve its target in the country.
