NEW DELHI :  Four companies including Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd and Larsen & Toubro Ltd are among the four companies that are in fray to supply NTPC Ltd two turbine generators of 800 MW each for its 1,600-MW plant at Darlipalli in Odisha, an official with one of the bidding companies said.

The other companies bidding for the tender are France’s Alstom and Japan’s Toshiba. Alstom has a joint venture with Bharat Forge Ltd and Toshiba with JSW Energy Ltd to make power equipment in the country. As per NTPC’s plan, the Darlipalli project had to be commissioned in the current five-year plan that started April 2012.    -Cogencis
