MUMBAI:  Bank of Baroda has become the first bank in the country to have launched a cash recycling operation on Jul 20, through use of cash recycling automated teller machines sourced from Hitachi-Omron Terminal Solutions Corp, a release said.

These automated teller machines help the bank as they use cash deposited by customers in the bank for future withdrawal transactions, after verification  and cleansing within themselves. While 100 of these units were installed in  2013, so far they were being used just for acceptance of cash bundles.  Now, the bank and Hitachi have upgraded them to be used for cash recycling.
